Anchor Hosting is a one-person WordPress hosting company in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I’m Austin Ginder. This is the agreement for the hosting service. The privacy policy covers how I handle personal data. Prices live on the plans page.

The service

I provide managed WordPress hosting: the servers, updates, nightly backups, security scanning, HTTPS, migrations, and a dashboard. The sites themselves run on Kinsta. I manage them. What’s included on each plan is on the plans page.

You own your sites and everything in them. I store that data because you hired me to host it. I don’t claim any rights to your content, plugins, or customer lists.

Billing

Plans are billed in advance, monthly, quarterly, or yearly. We pick the cycle when you start. Payments go through Stripe. I invoice for the current plan plus any add-ons (extra sites, storage, pageviews).

Prices can change. If they do, I’ll say so before the new rate hits an invoice. Pay the invoice. If a charge fails I’ll follow up. I can pause the service if it stays unpaid.

I don’t do automatic refunds. If I caused the problem, email me and we’ll sort it out.

Canceling

Email me when you want to cancel. There is no 12-month lock and no one-day trap. Service runs through the period you already paid. I don’t prorate unused time unless the mistake was mine.

When the account closes, long-term backups are purged. I keep a final snapshot for recovery. How that works, and how long server logs stay in Backblaze B2, is in the privacy policy. You can take your sites with you. I’ll help you leave.

What I will act on

I’m not an editor. I don’t review your posts and I don’t set your editorial policy.

I will act on malware, phishing, spam infrastructure, illegal content, and anything that is knocking over a server or getting a site blacklisted. I’ll take a site offline if I have to, and I’ll tell you. The security page is how that monitoring actually runs.

Don’t use the service for:

• Malware, backdoors, or drive-by exploits
• Phishing, scam pages, or spam campaigns
• Content that is illegal in the United States
• Anything that attacks other people’s systems

If a site is compromised, I’ll work the cleanup. If a site is the source of the abuse, I can suspend it.

Analytics

Hosting includes privacy-friendly analytics (Fathom Analytics). I inject a local tracker. Pageviews go to Fathom under an account I own. No cookies, no profiles. Details, and language you can paste into your own privacy policy, are on the privacy policy. I can turn it off on a site if you ask.

Open source

CaptainCore, the platform behind the dashboard, is open source under the MIT license. So is most of what I build here. You’re allowed to read it, fork it, and take it with you. See giving back. I don’t ban reverse engineering of software I already published as open source.

Pricing, account internals, and other customers’ data stay confidential. Don’t share those.

If something happens to me

A one-person host raises a fair question. There is a documented plan, escrowed access, and a partner ready to take the helm. Read the bus factor plan.

Downtime and limits

I work to keep sites up. I don’t warrant the internet, Kinsta, DNS, or third-party plugins and themes. Connection speed is end-to-end. I don’t guarantee a number.

If your site is unreachable because of something on my side, the most I owe you is a pro-rata credit for that downtime against the monthly fee. That is the cap. I’m not responsible for lost revenue, lost data beyond the backups I keep, or other downstream damage.

Your responsibility

You’re responsible for what you put on your sites: content, plugins, themes, users, and anything your visitors submit. You warrant that you have the rights to that material.

If someone comes after me because of your site, you cover it. That includes reasonable attorney fees. I’m hosting WordPress for you. I’m not your publisher, your lawyer, or your cop except where the abuse rules above apply.

Transferring the account

You can’t assign this agreement without my okay. If you’re selling the business, changing ownership, or moving jurisdictions, email me. Don’t wait until the week of close. I need enough time to move billing and access cleanly.

Ending it

You can cancel as above. I can end the service if you don’t pay, if you break these terms after I’ve told you, if the account is in insolvency, or if we both agree. I’ll give notice unless the site is actively harming something and I have to pull it first.

Pennsylvania law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Exclusive jurisdiction and venue are in the Court of Common Pleas of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. If a piece of this page is unenforceable, the rest still stands.

If we end up in a dispute and one of us sues, the prevailing party can recover reasonable costs and attorney fees.
